Architects Kirill Ustinov and Pyotr Lukyanov of Russian design studio Bureau ANC concept arranged an experimental training ground for their wildest ideas and fantasies.
When choosing an apartment, Pyotr and Kirill already knew exactly what it should be: with a separate bedroom and living room, a minimal kitchen, no corridors, enough storage space and always with a panoramic view of Moscow. When a suitable option with an area of ??55 m2 was found, the architects made the first visualization of the interior - a calm, gray-beige. And then the idea arose to use blue color. “This apartment turned out so because we made it for ourselves, because not every customer will agree to such an experiment,” says Kirill.
They tested the color on the wall in a rented apartment to see if they were comfortable living surrounded by blue. Since the purchase of the apartment, when the house was still under construction, the architects began to buy decoration materials and furniture.
The apartment is interesting not only in color, but also in constructive solutions. For example, architects spied the idea of ??wooden shutters instead of curtains on windows at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and its high-quality execution required ingenuity. The result was a peculiar optical illusion.
