Designer Tatiana Minina

The owner of this apartment and designer Tatyana Minina have known each other for a long time: they have decorated several villas in Bali together. Therefore, the appearance in the Moscow interior of elements in ethnic style is a completely logical development of the plot. “The customer is addicted to everything natural and made by hand,” adds Tatiana.

The space with which she had to work is in the house built in 1900. It was a communal apartment with a long corridor and small rooms. During the dismantling, textured brickwork was found under the layers of finishing, they decided to leave it in plain sight, which led to a partial change in the design project. For example, the screen was supposed to be placed at the head of the bed in the bedroom, and it turned into the facades of a sideboard, which is now in the dining room area.

Fragment of the living room. The wall behind the sofa was planned to be brick, but this turned the interior into a loft, so it was plastered. The image of an elephant is a wish of the customer, which was performed by the artist Rina Kirillina. The facades of the dresser are made of a screen; Vladimir furniture factory; coffee tables and drinking bowls, Moon-stores.
However, the main challenge for the designer was oblique walls in the bedroom, nursery and bathroom (see plan). “I didn’t want to level them, so as not to reduce the area, so I tried to smooth out this deficiency visually with the help of cabinets,” Tatyana explains.

In the children's wardrobes are located on the sides of the entrance and hide part of the space, and in the master bedroom - at the foot of the bed. Thus, the wrong geometry of the rooms is not immediately evident.
