Living room. Chairs for the design of Warren Platner, Knoll; Roman sculpture of the II century; on the left, a painting of Juan Gris; carpet design by Frank Lloyd Wright.View from the dining room towards the living room. Sculpture in the form of horse groats, the work of Johnny Raymond; Albert Chubak's picture; fabric curtains, Christian Fischbacher.Canteen. It is separated from the entrance area by a partition designed by Serge Castella.
The designers retained an open layout in the attic and even removed the last partition in the common area - it obscured the view of the famous house of La Pedrera. Media room. The armchair and sofa were designed by Serge Castell in imitation of Jean Royer; Capsule stool designed by Herve van der Straten.
Detail of media rooms. Near the window is a sculpture of Guy Bareff. Its outlines echo the domes of the house of La Pedrera, built by Antonio Gaudi.Almost all the windows of the attic look to the north, so that it can not be called solar. "Therefore, we decided to paint all surfaces in pure white color," says Serge.
But the apartment still needed a soul - something that evokes emotions and connects the space together. Then Castella came up with three "amoeba" - something like a bizarre, streamlined shape of oak veneer that separate the corridor from the living room, dining room and gym. “We thought that these figures would breathe life into a bright room. And so it happened, ”says the designer, who was inspired by the work of her beloved Provencal painter, Claude Vial. New book racks were made of the same wood as the partitions - light oak perfectly dilutes the monotony of the white walls of the apartment.
It was easy to choose the situation for the new interior - the owners love neutral colors, so the interior turned out to be calm and very light, but at the same time quite intricate. The customers wanted the works of their beloved Herve van der Straten, Joe Ponty and Warren Platner to be in the apartment, and there was a place for antiquarian objects near the works of these legendary designers and modern art. So now the attic, which just recently looked like a gloomy library, is more like an art gallery.
