We are a few miles outside of Paris, in a large house built during Napoleon III's time, in the mid-1800s. The house has been expanded several times but is surprisingly well connected, despite several different modern elements, for example the room with a huge rectangular window that was typical of the 1950s.

Julia decided to keep everything, but she had painted in all rooms. She has used many different colors, and plays with shadows and mixes shades.

- The only thing that we have done completely is the fireplace that I have raised and dressed with a front of wood, she continues.

Design objects and personal atmosphere

Julia Rouzaud has a unique fingertip sense to create a personal atmosphere and always strives to find the right harmony. The lounge also runs it in blue-purple tones and is adorned by beautiful plants. The kitchen goes into several shades of blue with blue kitchen cabinets, blue lighting and blue tables.

She has decorated her house the same way she created her web magazine Goodmoods four years ago. The magazine mixes all genres and stretches across the boundaries between fashion, design, art, vintage and modern. Well-known creators create inspiration and exciting mood boards on different themes.

A small change of well-known design
In addition, Goodmoods also makes limited reuse collections. One example is the well-known chair Cesca B32 by Marcel Breuer who got a new look with a seat in the ribbed velvet. It is a chair that quite well summarizes Julia Rouzaud's way of working: a slight light change of well-known design that gives a personal touch.

Even the objects and furniture that Julia designed herself goes well with the design of the largest ones. The table in the dining room which she has made in walnut and black lacquer, the benches in the kitchen dressed in fabric from Hermès and the bath front in wood with intarsia of straw, all meet with furniture signed by world-renowned designers, from Charlotte Perriand and India Mahdavi to Alvar Aalto and Patricia Urquiola.
