Everything in this Moscow apartment – the color scheme, Art Deco elements, vintage details – says that it is quite an unusual home. Indeed, the apartment is located in a 19th century apartment building on Sretenka Street in the heart of Moscow with all its unique historic features – high ceilings, large windows and a characteristic floor plan. Designer Anna Clark has done an excellent job, creating a delicate design with a touch of nostalgia that fits into modern trends as much as possible. Bravo!

“The apartment is located in a pre-revolutionary apartment building,” says designer Anna Clark. - Unconditional plus of the old layout is a spacious entrance hall where several people can comfortably sit at the same time. A spacious built-in wardrobe solves the problem of storing outerwear and shoes. ”
“From the hallway we enter the living room - the lightest and most airy room in the whole apartment. It was important for us to preserve this feeling, so it was decided not to close the windows and emphasize their scale with the help of wide trim panels. ”

Suspended lamps have become essential attributes of the zoning of the living room and kitchen. “After I easily chose Cattelani & Smith for the dining room, for a long time I couldn’t find a suitable pair for him. As a result, the decision came by itself when I saw these amorphous balls from Foscarini, ”recalls Anna. The sofa for the living room is designed according to the designer’s sketches at Settees. "It is curious that the legs of the sofa were machined from brass by the manufacturer of UAVs," adds Clark.
The kitchen is located at the back of the apartment next to the back door. “This layout is typical for old apartment houses, and we did not change anything here. I always try to pay tribute to the architecture of the house and the era when it was built, ”emphasizes Anna.
The dark facades of the kitchen are a rather bold decision and, despite the trends, customers do not always agree to such dramatic tones. “In our case, everything went well: the light walls, the floor and the apron balance space. So that the accent remained on the dark-blue facades, I decided to paint the eaves and the ceiling in one neutral color, ”says the designer.
“Thanks to the bay window, the bedroom is evenly flooded from morning to evening with a soft light. To create a feeling of relaxation, even sybarity, we chose the eastern direction in the decor. Therefore, behind the headboard of the bed appeared wallpaper with a characteristic ornament, soft draped textiles on the windows, sconce with tassels, black accents in the form of long handles with brass trim, ”says Anna.
The location of communications allowed to organize two full bathrooms and a laundry facility. In one of the bathrooms turned out to be a window, and this is a great rarity and incredible luck for the designer. “I wanted to keep the feeling of light and space, so the wall is tiled only to the middle. Sunlight reflected from the glossy surface of the tile enhances this impression, ”explains Anna.
“It seems to me that the interior turned out to be very warm, welcoming and relaxed, it is a pleasure to be in it. At the stage of interior decoration I was lucky to cooperate with the stylist Tatiana Goedicke. Thanks to her, vintage pieces of furniture and decor appeared in the project, which made the project more alive and interesting, ”adds the designer.
