英国伦敦St.Germain市中心的酒吧餐厅
Paris meets New York (in Farringdon)
The concept behind central London bar/restaurant St Germain was to combine the vibrant feel of New York's best bars and restaurants with simple, high quality French brasserie fare.
Set within a former 19th century printworks in London’s Farringdon, the ground floor bar and restaurant area is a naturally dramatic double-height (4.5m) light-filled space with large windows both at the street and rear side. Certain authentic original materials were retained, from the cast iron supporting pillars to bare brick walls, made more contemporary with the addition of sprayed matt cream paint.
Blacksheep’s interior scheme added layers of feature interest to this already strong space, from textured black and white vertically-striped paper for the wall opposite the bar, to huge-scale backlit angled mirrors to encourage restaurant activity at both ends of the dining area. The bar area was delineated from the restaurant area through different flooring treatments and more informal seating and tables. For the restaurant, booth seating was installed, as well as a central sleigh-banquette, overlit by large-scale Anglepoise lamps and huge reclaimed pendant lights – originally from an east end office showroom – which were reconditioned and sprayed black, with pulleys to vary their height.
Blacksheep also designed the external branding and signage for the scheme, as well as a full graphics package, including stationery, menus and matchboxes.
