Kokaistudios was invited by the Richemont Group, Switzerland’s leading luxury brands conglomerate, to design their Asia-PacificHeadquarter Office in Hong Kong. In the project we continued a process begun during our previous collaborations in China to re-conceptualize their working spaces and move from traditional cubicle style offices of the past into more comfortable, airy, open plan offices designed to be a great environment in which to collaborate and work.
Occupying an entire floor of the landmark Jardine House in Central, Kokaistudios design development process for the project began by searching for an innovative way to incorporate the building’s most challenging architectural design feature, namely its famous thick circular windows. Our solution was to turn a challenge into a signature design feature; namely we created multi-functional feature wall that encompass the windows. The adopted design system greatly increases the efficiency of the office by providing significant storage areas within the wall mounted cabinets while creating a unifying design feature that gives the office a strong identity. Designed in a style of timeless understated elegance, the project features extensive use of environmentally friendly natural materials, carefully studied lighting solutions, and crafted design furniture and fixtures.
